JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP - This is a one week comprehensive job search tailored for professional immigrants and trades. The workshop covers the Hidden Job Market, Transferable Skills, The Job Interview, Canadian Work Culture, Resume Building & Cover Letters, among others.
Workshop Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
CASE MANAGEMENT - One-on-one employment counselling, development of a return to work action plan, guidance and support.
JOB PLACEMENT – We match employers with job seekers and offer job leads and referrals. Current database of job seekers and employers available.
REFERRAL TO A MENTOR (same profession or trade) - Support & counselling are provided to enable a mutually beneficial match for the duration of the mentoring. Mentors provide insight & advice on such topics as: ~ general orientation to the profession or trade; ~ nature of jobs available & educational requirements in the field; ~ role of accreditation and registration; ~ contacts & referrals.
NETWORKING SESSIONS - connect clients with employers coming from the same field. These sessions give clients the opportunity to meet employers & discuss their skills.
Workshop hours: 9am-12noon, Monday-Friday Continuous intake.
Eligibility: * unemployed or working less than 20 hrs/wk; * legally entitled to work in Canada.
